Goose Pond Campership Application 2018

Campership Assistance: We have help available if you need financial assistance in paying for any of our camping programs. Summer Camp Assistance is offered on the Council and Troop level. We ask that you please download and fill out the attached Campership Assistance Form and bring it to Mr. D’Elia for processing. This form needs to be submitted to Scout Office by the April 15th deadline so we will need it by the April 12th  troop meeting. The required documentation must be attached for processing on the Council level.

Eagle Project – Ryan Flynn

Let’s help Ryan Flynn with his Eagle Project on April 21, at 8 am – 12pm.

It is a Landscaping project at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit in the upper Parkin’ lot. 300 School St, Clarks Summit, PA 18411

Wear at least an older class B shirt and boots.

He is  looking for 12-15 Scouts and 5 adults.

There will be food provided.

Scouts are advised to apply sunscreen and bug repellent or bring it with them. 
Also  bring a stack of newspapers from your house and  work gloves.
If you have a shovel or a rake please bring one as well.

Spaghetti Dinner – Troop 251

We’d like to have all Troop 160 Scouts and their families support Troop 251’s Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday, April 5th, 2018, 5pm-7pm at the Clarks Green United Methodist Church.  Tickets are for sale at the door.

Let’s come out en mass and in full uniform to support Troop 251.

5 Mile Hike – Saturday April 7th and/or Sunday April 8th

Join us for a 5 mile hike on either Saturday April 7th and/or Sunday April 8th. We are organizing two groups – one for each day.

We will meet at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church on the Morgan Highway at 7:30 AM. Each morning we will decide if we are traveling on the Trolley trail or exploring the Lackawanna State Park.

Bring a quart of water and good hiking shoes/boots.
Wear clothing for the weather – bring rain gear if the forecast is rain.
This is your opportunity to complete the requirement for 2nd class 5 mile hike.

Opportunities for Scouts to earn Catholic Scouting Awards

Annual Diocesan Scout Mass

The annual Scout Mass will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Scranton. Scouts who have earned the Ad Altare Dei, Pope Pius XII, I Live My Faith, Mary the First Disciple and Spirit Alive religious emblems will be invited to this Mass. Family members and scout leaders are also invited. The Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, Bishop of Scranton, will be the celebrant.

Eagle Project – Nate Armstrong – Part II

Thanks to the volunteers last weekend who distributed the fliers.

If you can help Nate by supplying items on this list – that would be great. He will be collecting those items on Sunday, March 18th.
This is a two day project.

We will again meet at 12:45 PM on March 18th at CSUMC to review procedures before we go to recanvas the neighborhoods to collect the donations.  We will meet back at the church after everything is collected which should take about an hour as well.  We will then organize the gifts into age groups, which should take a half hour or so.

Hickory Run State Park

Overnight Campout for Boy Scouts

Saturday March 10 –  8:30am. Meet at the Organized Group Tent Campground at Hickory Run State Park.

Pickup Scouts at 9am Sunday.

There is an Orienteering course – bring your compass.
We will go Hiking – wear correct footwear and at least (1) one quart water bottle.

Patrol Cooking
Bring your food ideas to the next meeting.

It may be cold – bring correct winter clothing and sleeping bag. It will likely rain – bring rain gear. WINTER GEAR LIST HERE
