Scout Sunday – February 8th, 2015

All Troop 160 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and their families are expected to attend the Sunday Service at Clarks Summit United Methodist Church on February 8th, 2015 to THANK the church for allowing us to use their facilities.   It is very important that we have a great turnout.   Please attend regardless of your personal faith and please be in full uniform.  We will meet in the Fellowship hall at 9:30am to line up and will march in together for the 10am service.  Light refreshments are provided following the service.

Troop 160 Hats are Available

Troop 160 hats are available for $12.  These are top-notch quality hats, with a high-quality embroidered logo.  They are one-size-fits-all.  The Troop committee is making them available for a purchase price of $12.  They count an an official uniform component along with the official BSA hat.  If a Scout is going to wear a hat when in uniform it must be either the Troop 160 hat or the official BSA hat.  No other hats are allowed to be worn when in uniform.

Note that for the Fall 2014 Washington Trip, ONLY the Troop 160 hat is allowed in order to be unique from the other Troops.

To purchase a hat, please see Mr. Ross at a Troop meeting with the $12 payment.

Good Eats

September 13, 2014 – Cooking Merit Badge was one area of focus for the September campout at Lackawanna State Park.  The weather might have been rainy and cold, but the Scouts had a sizzling time following an orienteering course, swinging on vines, and cooking for the group as part of completing merit badge requirements.  Mr. D’Elia, Cooking Counselor, said the the Scouts did a great job and should be complimented on the terrific food.

Each Scout was required to plan a meal or a dessert, make a list of all the ingredients needed and all the equipment needed.  On the Thursday before the campout the Scouts went to the market to buy their ingredients, and then prepared the meal over the weekend.  It was a lot of work, but well worth the effort.
