To parents of all Troop 160 Scouts: Please come to the Parent’s Night, 7:30-9:00pm on Thursday, March 17th, 2016. We will be recognizing all Scouts who have advanced a rank since the last Eagle Court of Honor last year.
Please bring your checkbook in order to respond to our 2016 Friends of Scouting appeal.
We will also be answering questions about the upcoming trip to Valley Forge, Summer Camp, and can answer any questions about the Council Travelling Camporee to Niagara Falls in October or the National Jamboree in West Virginia in 2017.
Our annual Parent & Scout Campout is March 5th & 6th, 2016 at Camp Lackawanna in Vosburg, PA (just north of Tunkhannock). This is an outstanding event and is always very well attended by both Scouts and their dads or moms. There will be a robust program, an introduction to our Troop for Arrow of Light Scouts and their parents, plenty of free time, good food, and an exciting campfire program. On Saturday, November 21st, Scouts have an opportunity earn service hours at the Dalton Food Pantry. We’ll be joining area church youth and other Scouts in sorting food for the Pantry. Thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of items need to be sorted, packed and stored in preparation for supplying families in need this holiday season.
Meet at the Dalton United Methodist Church from 9am-11:30am. Street clothes are fine, though a Class B shirt would be awesome. Check in with Mr. Davis when you arrive and before you leave so we have a record of the number of hours worked.
The pantry is at the rear of the church. Bring a bag of food for the pantry if possible.
Due to the volume of cars it might be better to be dropped off in front of the church and walk to the open door at the right side of the church towards the rear of the property.
Kevin Sebring will be at this week’s meeting at 7pm to once again show samples of the available troop gear that can be ordered. Please print out the attached form and bring it along with you. Payment with a check is preferred. Because of the setup charge that we have to incur, orders will be made once a year.
These are new designs. The jacket is awesome. Come early and check them out!!!
Make it fast and easy – – – fill out the following order form in advance
We are significantly short of help for the French Toast Breakfast. Please go to the sign up page on our website to sign up to bring baked goods and to help work. We need all slots filled for both of those signups.
Many thanks to the few people who offered to donate food items for the breakfast. Your donation is greatly appreciated. We have now ordered all the remaining needed food items. The donation page shows who has donated food, but no more sign ups for donations will be taken.
October 17th and 18th – We’ll bike hike from the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church to Mr. Tom Tone’s property in Falls – about 7.5 easy miles. All gear will be trucked to the site.
Then expect a terrific weekend of fun!! Patrols are doing their own planning and cooking, so contact your Patrol Leader to let him know you want to be a part of the action. The only cost for this event is whatever your patrol needs to spend on food!
Remember that this counts towards your Camping Merit Badge requirements.
Sign ups for this campout are only by speaking to your Patrol Leader.
As we begin a new year at Troop 160 we request that parents complete a Talent Release form. Pictures at Scout events are often posted to our website or published in the newspaper. Parent’s are asked to sign a Talent Release form indicating your approval. This only needs to be done once for each Scout. If you haven’t completed a release form previously, please print and complete the following form including your signature and your son’s signature, and hand in to Mr. Davis at a Troop Meeting.
