This event will count toward Second Class Rank Requirement 7.c: Participate in a school, community, or troop program on the dangers of using drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, and other practices that could be harmful to your health.

You are invited to attend a special one day training course developed right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania for Boy Scout & Venturing Youth Leaders. The course is designed to provide Scouts (and adult leaders) with a more in-depth training experience than their Troop/Crew training by providing supplemental leadership skill sessions. Youth and Adult leaders may attend.
There is no rank requirement. All Scouts are welcome. Speak with the Scoutmaster and get his signature.
Registration Fee: $30.00 if registered and paid prior to October 28th. ($35.00 after Oct 28th)

Join us for Harvest Fest at Camp Acahela this weekend. We are staffing the Dutch oven station and really need additional volunteers on Saturday from 11-6 and Sunday from 10-5.
DIRECTIONS TO ACAHELA HERE
Our Scoutmaster, Mr. D’Elia will procure all of the ingredients for the following recipies:
· Cinnamon/raisin rolls
· Apple Cobbler
· Chicken and dumplings
We are stationed at the Twins cabins. If you would like to camp overnight – you can do so in the cabins. Please show your scout spirit and respond to the Scoutmaster, Mr. D’Elia via email as soon as possible if you are able to help out. If you know nothing about Dutch oven cooking – that’s perfect, you will be an expert by the end of the day. You can come one or both days, just let us know. Your help will lead to the success of the event! If you have not been camping yet this year – we need to see you there, NO MATTER YOUR RANK!

Troop Committee Training – Mon. Dec. 11th @ Scout Service & Training Center from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm: A basic training for Troop Committee Chairs, Troop Committee Members, Scoutmasters, and Assistant Scoutmasters in the Boy Scout Program.

• Scouts gain confidence, salesmanship and communication skills, and a sense of accomplishment. The popcorn sale is not about selling popcorn, it’s about promoting Scouting and the Scouting ideals!
• It is an opportunity for all Scouts to earn monies towards their Scouting expenses.
• The popcorn sale helps the Council raise money for improving the summer camp facilities/building new camp locations, offering more extensive training for our volunteer leaders and members, and helping us get to know and serve the needs of our volunteers and Units better.

The annual Troop 160 French Toast Breakfast will be Saturday, November 11th, 2017. We are looking for business donations to help offset some of our costs. If you know of a business that might be willing to donate the cost of a ham, please print the attached form to solicit their donation.

Be sure to bring (2) 1 Quart Bottles of water – filled.
It will be warm and we have an action-packed schedule. It is very important to drink water throughout the day.
Remember to bring a $15 check this Thursday night to the meeting.
Even if you signed up on the website, you must confirm that you are going to Gettysburg with the Scoutmaster, Mr D’Elia. Space is limited and reservations were made.
If you need transportaion, be sure to talk with Mr. D’Elia this Thursday to make arrangements.

Troop 160’s sponsoring organization, the Rotary Club of the Abingtons, is conducting their annual Taste of the Abingtons on Sunday September 24, 2017 from 5pm – 8pm at the Ramada Inn in Clarks Summit. This is a great event, and we ask that you participate to show your support for our sponsor.
