Troop 160 has been growing leaders since 1920, through a robust and fun program grounded in the principles of Scouting.  Membership has always been strong, hovering between 45 and 80 scouts with strong adult participation.  We consider Troop 160 to be a family, and the entire family can get involved.

Our success is easy to see.

  1. Strong youth leadership, with the Scouts determining the program and executing in ways that are mutually instructive.
  2. Strong and engaged adult leaders, including several who have carried the Troop’s tradition of excellence for many years.  For example, Mr. Dave Jones has been involved with the Troop as a former Scoutmaster and current Assistant Scoutmaster since 1955.  Dave still runs our annual canoe trip over-nighter through the whitewater of the Delaware river
  3. Strong outdoor program.  Nothing is more exciting for a Scout than a camp-out, hike or High Adventure trip.  We’ve done dozens of long trips in the Adirondack Mountain of New York, at the Philmont Scout Range in Arizona and at many National Jamborees.
  4. Strong Identity.  We demand good uniforming, including our Class B uniforms (Scout pants and our trademark green Troop 160 Tee Shirts.  You can always tell a Scout from 160!

Troop 160 meets on Thursday nights at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church (and always has) from 7:30-9pm.  We are sponsored by the Abington Rotary Club
